Thirty six years after the era defining original, and three years since the initial promo for the long awaited follow up was interrupted by the first stages of what seems like ever present, low level rolling chaos, the Top Gun : Maverick movie is finally hitting cinemas at the end of May (2022).

To mark the long awaited release, LA heroes Berlin's iconic anthem from the 1986 original, Take My Breath Away, is being re-released in a plethora of new versions, all of them based around the symphonic, orchestral reinterpretation featured on the much vaunted 2020 "Strings Attached" album.

From the epic, near seven minute string-lead extravaganza of the Orchestral Extended Version, through the crafted, 21st century electronic journey of the Kim & Buran interpretation, all the way on to the haunting ambiance of the Metaphor Prelude Instrumental : amongst these twelve mixes, there's an interpretation here for everyone that's lived this song over the decades, just as there is for newcomers to the film and it's sequel. Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" helped define Top Gun in the 1980's : these mixes will only help stir warm memories as 'Maverick' is finally let loose in 2022.
